Responsibilities
Responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting problems, and resolves production issues of various scope and complexity relating to quality
Responsible for technical problem definition and solution in manufacturing environment. Responsible to act as liaison with design engineering on incorporating changes to the designs which improve manufacturability
Develops, implements, maintains, and improve processes in the manufacture of printed circuit assemblies
Provides technical assistance and training support to manufacturing technicians
Supports Lean/Six Sigma initiatives
Determines proper flow and sequence of material for efficient build process and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
Analyze, develop and execute cost reduction opportunities for manufacturing processes
Provides technical interpretation of drawings and specifications
Evaluate, select and recommend capital process equipment. Perform cost payback analysis and generate Acquisition Requests when needed
Eliminate/reduce test defects and improve test yields. Perform root cause analysis and take corrective action to resolve failures
Studies process equipment performance and establishes solutions to decrease equipment downtime
Maintain awareness of the technological state-of-the-art and of the Company’s competitive position in the assigned area
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
3 Years of experience in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) primary and Through Hole processes
3 Years of experience as a Process Engineer
Preferred
Background in manufacturing preferably in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) primary and Through Hole processes. SMT experience a must have skill set
Experience with LEAN/Theory of Constraints manufacturing methods
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control Methods
