Responsibilities
Translate business requirements or problems into a comprehensive analytical framework using modeling / statistical techniques and business knowledge in order to generate actionable insights into drivers of operational performance
Lead and contribute to the development of high-quality visual presentations, ad hoc analyses, dashboards, tools, and reports for teams both within and outside of Air Ops
Communicate updates and actionable outcomes with easy-to-interpret visualizations and practical recommendations to all levels of leadership
Collaborate with cross-functional analytics and business groups to understand organizational needs, design solutions, create meaningful metrics and KPIs, and integrate data-driven insights into business operations, enhancing decision-making and increasing operational efficiency
Pro-actively identify process improvement opportunities and perform root cause analyses leading to significant business impact and transformation
Automate, create, and continuously improve operational reports, processes, models, and analyses
Document the Air Ops data landscape, maintain an inventory of reports, and plan for report consolidation, elimination, and/or improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or other Quantitative/Analytical discipline
4+ years airline experience
2+ years analytical experience
Proficiency writing complex queries and procedures (i.e. SQL, Python, Foundry, etc.)
Data visualization skills using one or more reporting tools (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI, ThinkCell, etc.)
Strong understanding of United's business and operations
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
Willing to travel 5-10% domestic
Must be willing and able to work at the CSC-Willis Tower in Chicago, IL as a hybrid work schedule 3 days in office
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
2+ years in an operational group such as the SOC, NOC, Inflight, Flight Ops, Network Planning, Tech Ops, or Resource Planning
