Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including schematics, PCB layouts, and system architecture using AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks
Develop FPGA-based solutions utilizing SystemVerilog, Simulink, and ARM microcontrollers for high-performance applications
Conduct root cause analysis for electrical system failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
Oversee project scheduling, ensuring timely delivery of design milestones and adherence to NEC standards and manufacturing requirements
Perform signal processing tasks and develop firmware using C++, Python, Perl, and scripting languages to optimize system performance
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into mechanical assemblies utilizing Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and soldering techniques
Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and vision inspection systems for troubleshooting and quality assurance
Support manufacturing processes by providing technical guidance on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), surface mount technology (SMT), and electrical systems integration
Engage in system testing, debugging, and validation to meet project specifications and industry standards

Required

Valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Extensive experience with FPGA development, PCB design, system design, and schematic creation
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, MicroStation for electrical and mechanical modeling
Strong programming skills in C++, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SystemVerilog, and scripting languages such as Perl
Knowledge of NEC codes, signal processing techniques, firmware development, and debugging practices
Hands-on experience with surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, vision inspection systems, and electrical troubleshooting tools like ohmmeters
Familiarity with manufacturing processes including surface mount technology (SMT), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and electronics assembly methods
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis on complex electrical issues
Strong project management skills including project scheduling and cross-disciplinary collaboration
Willingness to travel: 25%

Preferred

Advanced degrees preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to system integration is a plus
Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
Electrical engineering - Within construction, Commercial: 5 years (Preferred)
Located near or willing to eventually move to the Louisville KY location
