GSE & Tooling Engineer-Large Mechanisms, Level III
Blue Origin is working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. The GSE & Tooling Engineer will design and develop mechanical ground systems and tooling for the new launch site at LC-36, directly impacting the history of space exploration by ensuring safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities
Develop mechanical and structural design solutions to support GSE & Tooling projects
Create CAD models and drawings, and provide FEA and hand-calcs for complex mechanical systems
Provide engineering support throughout the project lifecycle (including fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation)
Qualification
Required
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, structural, aerospace engineering, or similar disciplines
7+ years experience with a strong background in design/analysis/fabrication of GSE & Tooling mechanical systems (i.e. fixtures, platforms, mechanisms, launch vehicle GSE, aerospace tooling, etc)
Mechanical design experience using CAD (Creo/Windchill preferred), hand calculations and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred)
Experience designing simple and efficient tools with quick turnaround
Experience designing and analyzing bolted and welded assemblies
Preferred
Experience designing complex tools to interface with both ground and flight hardware
1+ years direct aerospace GSE & Tooling design and analysis experience
Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack-up analysis
