Benefits Coordinator
Satterfield & Pontikes Construction is a construction company that specializes in public-sector projects and is committed to sustainable construction. They are seeking a Benefits Coordinator to administer and support employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities
Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits
Conduct benefits orientations to educate new hires on benefits and the self-enrollment process
Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in HRIS and carrier platforms
Assist employees with troubleshooting benefit claims
Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives
Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, and FMLA
Administer COBRA
Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements
Assist the HR Manager in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans that benefit the company
Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices
Track discrepancies and resolve billing issues with benefit carriers
Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire, and miscellaneous reports
Prepare and assist with the open enrollment process
Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees. Complete annual benefits reporting requirements
Administer employee incentive programs as they relate to Wellness and Engagement
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
At least two years of related experience required
Proficiency in HRIS systems
Strong understanding of employee benefits administration
Strong customer-centric and communication skills
Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Experience with data entry, record-keeping, routine audits, and file management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
