Responsibilities
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to gather and analyze network security requirements, including connectivity, ports, protocols, and data flows
Translate application requirements into detailed and actionable network security policies and firewall rules
Design and validate network security architecture in AWS using Security Groups, Network ACLs, and integration with Palo Alto firewall policies
Partner with perimeter defense and security operations teams to streamline firewall rule discovery, approval, and deployment processes
Document best practices and standards for cloud network security design, including guidance on using Palo Alto versus AWS native controls
Contribute to discovery and planning for cloud migrations by capturing network security dependencies
Support troubleshooting and optimization of existing cloud network security configurations
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security architecture or engineering with a focus on cloud environments
Strong understanding of network security controls, including firewalls, Security Groups, VPNs, and layered defense models
Proven ability to translate application connectivity requirements into firewall rules and network security designs
Experience with AWS networking components, including VPCs, Subnets, Route Tables, and Transit Gateways
Experience working collaboratively with application teams in Agile or DevSecOps environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to document and present complex technical concepts clearly
Ability to work independently and deliver results in fast-paced environments
Preferred
AWS certifications, such as AWS Security Specialty or Solutions Architect
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and enterprise firewall policy management tools
Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries
