Senior Vice President, Research and Programs, /Co-Director, LTSS
LeadingAge is a prominent organization focused on aging services, and they are seeking a Senior Vice President of Research and Programs, / Co-Director for the LTSS Center at UMass Boston. This role involves strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Center’s research initiatives and programmatic efforts, fostering collaboration and ensuring the relevance of research to the membership.

Responsibilities
Contributes to the development of the Association’s strategic plan, including priority focus for research and programs
Fosters a strong and collaborative culture within the team that supports professional growth and development, exploration of new opportunities, and growth of cross-functional and external collaboration and partnerships, including other LeadingAge teams, LeadingAge state partners, LeadingAge fellows, external thought leaders, potential funders,etc
Provides oversight of research agenda including overall direction to Center research staff that includes advising and providing guidance on proposal and budget preparation, research design, research partners,timely production of proposals, implementation of studies and production of deliverables
Seeks funding opportunities for new research and evaluation studies from a broad range of funders (e.g., government, private foundations, business sponsorship, provider members,etc.,). Supports sub-contractor partnerships as appropriate in research and programmatic work areas that are led and conducted by other organizations
Provides oversight and ensures thorough planning,development and implementation of programmatic initiatives in LeadingAge’s priority areas, ensuring effective coordination with LeadingAge, state partners,members and other stakeholders
Serve as member of the LeadingAge LTSS Center @UMass Boston Steering Committee, which offers strategic guidance to advance the Center’s ongoing impact, work priorities, branding efforts, communications strategies, and new opportunities for growth and collaboration
Provides strategic and substantive input to LeadingAge as a member of the senior leadership team
In partnership with LeadingAge’s Communications and Marketing team and the support of contractors, ensures the timely dissemination of the Center’s project and programmatic results to a variety of audiences including LeadingAge members, other LTSS providers, researchers, policymakers and other stakeholders using a media mix approach (such as web, social media, print, and videos) in multiple formats, including provider-friendly briefs, toolkits, reports, peer reviewed journals, books, presentations, and more
Coordinates all research efforts conducted by LeadingAge and ensures they are in line with LeadingAge priorities and Center research protocols and practices
Ensures that all research projects are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Qualification
Required
Doctorate level academic credentials and significant experience in conducting gerontological health services/long-term care applied research
Proven ability to lead a diverse team, cultivate a collaborative culture and support staff growth and development
Must have at least 10 years of experience in managing and directing applied research projects and programmatic initiatives
Demonstrated experience with program design and execution
Demonstrated successful history in writing proposals and obtaining funding from government and/or private funders for research and program development
Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-impact programs, achieving measurable outcomes and effectively scaling, if applicable
Must be able to motivate staff and develop collaborative relationships in pursuit of common goals

Must have experience engaging with key stakeholder groups, aging services researchers, and other stakeholders to represent LeadingAge and influence practice and policy with evidence-based options
