Continuous Improvement Engineer
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our client's organization in the Harvard, IL area. The role focuses on fostering a culture of continuous improvement across production operations, collaborating with teams to identify and implement improvement ideas, and leading Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Responsibilities
Foster a culture of continuous improvement across production and facility operations
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement ideas and support implementation
Collect and analyze operational data to troubleshoot issues, eliminate waste, and reduce downtime
Develop actionable project plans and lead teams through execution and completion
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, process mapping, root‑cause analysis, error proofing, and visual management
Manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and deliverables
Communicate effectively with associates, production leadership, and support departments to ensure alignment
Establish, update, and standardize processes to drive operational improvements
Implement or refine workflows to increase productivity and optimize yield
Conduct product costing analysis and support cost‑reduction initiatives
Coach team members in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices
Identify performance gaps and drive transformation of existing systems or processes
Support environmental reporting and compliance requirements, as needed
Follow company quality standards, safety rules, policies, and participate in 5S activities
Participate in ongoing training and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts, CI tools, and problem‑solving techniques
Experience working with data and databases to support analysis and decision‑making
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced production environment
Preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or continuous improvement roles (preferred)
