Wound Closure & Healing R&D Intern - Summer 2026
Johnson & Johnson MedTech is a leader in healthcare innovation, focused on building a world where complex diseases are treated and cured. They are seeking R&D interns for the Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery organization to engage in hands-on laboratory work, documentation practices, and collaboration with engineers on project-related activities.

Responsibilities
Hands-on laboratory work in a chemistry or engineering lab
Good documentation practices, including writing test protocols, generating final reports, and documenting meeting minutes
Crafting and evaluating prototypes
Performing experimental studies, chemical synthesis, operating chemical process equipment (under supervision), executing analytical and other test methods
Collaborating with engineers and outside suppliers to support project related activities
Qualification
Required
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university during the Co-op session
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or a related technical field
Only students who have completed their sophomore year or above will be considered
For co-ops, availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Co-op session
Legal authorization to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future
Ability to provide their own transportation to this work location
Preferred
A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred
Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus programs and/or community service activities is desired
A high level of organization and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Be comfortable working independently, as well as on a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point, and have strong oral and written communication skills
Hands-on laboratory work in a chemistry, microbiology or engineering lab is strongly preferred
Completion of some coursework with an organic chemistry, polymer science/engineering focus is strongly preferred

Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year.
