Director of Adult Day Program
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport is seeking a Director for the Adult Day Program who will oversee daily operations and ensure high-quality services for adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. This role involves providing leadership to program staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating with relevant departments to enhance program effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Oversee the daily schedule, ensuring activities are engaging, individualized, and aligned with participants’ goals and interests
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop, implement, and evaluate program activities that support personal growth, life skills, and community integration
Monitor participant progress, update Individual Plans (IPs), and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and agency guidelines
Coordinate participant transportation and ensure arrival/departure procedures are safe
Collaborate with the Coordinator of Health Services to meet the health needs of each participant
Supervise, mentor, and support program staff, including assigning daily duties and facilitating team communication
Oversee staff adherence to Center policies and procedures
Provide ongoing training and coaching to staff to enhance skills in supporting individuals with special needs
Conduct regular team meetings to review participant updates, address concerns, and ensure consistent implementation of support strategies
Coordinate and conduct all annual mandatory training requirements for Adult Program staff
Ensure that all supports are delivered in a respectful, person-centered manner that upholds dignity and promotes independence
Address participant behavioral, medical, or personal needs promptly and effectively
Serve as a point of contact for families, guardians, and case managers, maintaining positive and professional relationships
Ensure program operations meet all state licensing and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate, timely documentation including attendance records, incident reports, and progress notes
Promote a safe and inclusive environment, enforcing health and safety protocols
Respond to emergencies and incidents according to established procedures
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities
Prior experience in program coordination and supervisory roles
Strong leadership and team management skills including team building and conflict resolution
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with an attention to detail
Knowledge of person-centered planning and disability services best practices
Proficiency in documentation and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, database systems)
Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and solution-focused in challenging situations
Current and valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass background checks and meet all state-required qualifications
Physical ability to assist participants with ambulation, including use of wheelchairs, walkers, or transfers if required. Occasionally perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Special Education, Social Work, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
CPR/First Aid certification, PMT training and Medical Administration Certification (or completed in the first six months of employment)
