Summer Engineering Intern (Machining/Mechanical)

They are seeking a Summer Engineering Intern (Machining/Mechanical) who will support the manufacturing team by contributing to process improvements and gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Assist with projects or work overload in assigned area
Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, products, and equipment
Work closely with experienced engineers and production staff
Identify and implement process improvements
Troubleshoot technical issues and support ongoing production operations
Qualification
Required
Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree engineering program
Interest and/or coursework in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science
Foresight: Think critically and perform risk assessments to make a safe decision at work
Accountable: Demonstrate personal integrity and trust, taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
Determination: Perform tasks independently under little to moderate supervision and able to effectively utilize resources when appropriate

Time Management: Manage time effectively to meet established deadlines
Problem-solving: Analyze complex problems, identify potential solutions, and implement effective strategies to address issues that arise in the course of their work
Data analysis: Analyze and interpret data related to their field of study, using statistical methods and software to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Proficiency or experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Preferred
Mechanical of Manufacturing Engineering degree preferred. (Current standing Junior, or Senior enrolled in a Master's program)
Previous internship or engineering/manufacturing experience a plus
Coursework in Statics, Dynamics, and Engineering Controls is a plus
Experience in Prototyping and Design including creating 3D models in SolidWorks and 3D printing
Familiarity of Quality Control, Design for Six Sigma, or Project Management is a plus
Familiarity with CNC machining, grinding, lathe equipment and/or manufacturing automation is a plus
