Research Scientist – Parenteral Packaging and Container Closure Systems
Collabera is an industry-leading organization seeking a Research Scientist to support the development of container closure systems for parenteral and biotechnological drug products. This role involves laboratory experimentation, integrity testing, and analytical method development to advance novel injectable therapies.
Responsibilities
Prepare, execute, and evaluate laboratory experiments for container closure systems used in parenteral drug products, including vials, prefilled syringes, cartridges, and lyophilized products
Perform container closure integrity testing and process capability assessments using established and emerging techniques
Develop, evaluate, and support analytical and process methods aligned with regulatory and quality expectations
Maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduling maintenance, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting training activities
Provide technical support for qualification activities and innovative container closure system initiatives
Coordinate with internal teams, external laboratories, manufacturing sites, and suppliers to support project execution
Document all experimental work in accordance with applicable quality systems and internal procedures
Author scientifically sound documentation such as laboratory reports, development reports, and risk assessments
Comply with all laboratory safety and workplace requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related scientific discipline
Minimum of two years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree in a related field
Strong technical understanding of parenteral drug product development and container closure integrity testing methods
Ability to interpret scientific literature and apply theoretical concepts to practical laboratory challenges
Experience managing multiple tasks while working collaboratively in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to scientific documentation
Proactive, detail-oriented approach to laboratory responsibilities
Preferred
Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing or development environments
Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to injectable drug products and packaging systems
