Responsibilities
Contribute to the design, analysis, development, testing and integration of optical communications systems to support its lasercom prototype systems development and testing
Work closely with a team of engineers to develop complex prototype optical communications hardware, with a focus on system design and analysis, end-to-end communications performance analysis, and novel architectures supporting applications over complex networks including terrestrial, space, and/or underwater segments
Develop system requirements and test plans to support field demonstrations
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience with analysis of optical communications systems (free space or fiber)
Demonstrated expertise with communications theory and analysis
Experience with information theory and coding
Experience with system analysis and modeling
Experience with integration and test as well as troubleshooting complex problems
Experience with MATLAB or other analysis tools relevant for communications systems analysis
Experience with optical communications laboratory equipment
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Willingness to work in a team environment
