Responsibilities
Design course activities in alignment with course objectives that allow opportunities for college students to demonstrate stated student learning outcomes
Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity
Encourage problem solving using discipline-specific strategies
Employ a variety of formative and summative assessments to assess course and program-level student learning outcomes
Build capacity for students to achieve their academic and professional goals
Foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling responsive reciprocal interactions, and conveying confidence in every student’s ability to learn
Maintain and submit student grades and other documentation required by the institution
Collaborate with colleagues on discipline-specific pedagogical and assessment practices to support student learning and meet accreditation requirements
Hold one hour of student conference time per week for every course section taught
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Teaching, Education, or a degree in a related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a diverse group of staff and students
Preferred
Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or similar Learning Management System
Prior experience with remote teaching via Zoom
Completed online teaching certification
Experience with a diverse, multilingual student population
Commitment to the open access mission of the community college
