Responsibilities

Pass the baton effectively. You will connect daily with 1st Shift Supervisors to review production goals, quality alerts, and material shortages, ensuring a seamless transition between shifts
Provide guidance and support to all assembly areas. You are the first line of defense for questions, ensuring the team stays on track to hit hourly and daily targets
Ensure the line never starves. You will support material handling activities, issue parts, and manage inventory movements so your assemblers have what they need to succeed. At times, you may also help assemble parts
Own the metrics. You will track attendance and production output, helping the team understand "winning vs. losing" the shift and assisting Supervisors in closing any gaps
Build trust and camaraderie. You will foster an environment where team members feel heard and are encouraged to share new ideas for improvement
Maintain a safe and productive work environment. As a key leader on site during 2nd shift, you act as the safety champion, ensuring protocols are followed and the facility is secure
Troubleshoot bottlenecks in real-time. Whether it's a machine issue or a process question, you help resolve it or escalate it to the appropriate channels

Required

Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to ITAR requirements)
Must be available to work 2nd Shift hours (e.g., 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM) and overlap with 1st shift for handovers
2+ years of experience in assembly or manufacturing operations
Demonstrated ability to lead by example
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with ERP systems (for material transactions) and Microsoft Office
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

Prior experience as a Line Lead or backup supervisor is highly preferred
