Responsibilities

Serves as a key member of the executive leadership team
Acts as a strategic partner on the executive team and works closely with the team to ensure they are meeting performance expectations
Works collaboratively to develop and improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the operational programs and ensure excellent client service
Establishes measurable, achievable program area goals and objectives on an annual basis and monitors progress
Direct oversight of Program Directors, Facilities, and IT departments. Builds their supervisory and managerial leadership skills to engage, encourage, empower, and motivate program staff
Demonstrated knowledge of New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) programs and Medicaid-billable services to enhance, expand, and sustain programming
Cultivates relationships and establishes partnerships between different program areas, encouraging knowledge sharing, resource utilization, and collaborative problem-solving
Assists with the selection of new team members when applicable. Evaluates the performance of team members; provides regular feedback and coaching regarding employee performance. Addresses disciplinary issues as needed
Works collaboratively with the Executive Director to develop and implement innovative programs and services that align with the organization’s mission
Collaborates with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to budget and monitor programmatic operations to ensure sound fiscal and systems management and provide guidance and oversight on budgets and financial monitoring to program directors and managers
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations and guidelines pertaining to programs
Promotes and represents Mental Health Association of Nassau County by serving on industry and community-based committees, boards, and professional organizations, etc
Works autonomously, while ensuring Executive Director expectations are met
In the absence of the Executive Director, the CPO, in partnership with the CFO, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency

Required

Master's degree in social sciences, human services, or another related field required
A minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible administrative experience within the human services industry, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role
Must have sound judgment and strong decision-making skills
Must be able to think strategically and provide inspirational leadership
Must be flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of the community
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
The position is based out of the Hempstead office but must be willing to travel to all agency locations and attend trainings and conferences as needed
