Sound Transit is responsible for managing transit operations in the Puget Sound region. They are seeking a System and Service Planning Intern to assist in developing the Annual Service Plan and recommending service changes to improve bus and rail services.

Responsibilities

Monitors performance metrics and, if applicable, works with Service Planning team members at Sound Transit and Partner agencies to develop and recommend service changes to improve route efficiency or utility
Assists in the development of Annual Service Plan content and document creation
Works with other groups within Sound Transit and at partner agencies to communicate, and implement twice-yearly service changes
Service Change proposal & engagement material development
Service Changes implementation support
Service Plan document review and content development
Network Plan support

Required

Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited Associate, Bachelor's or Graduate Degree program in Transportation Planning, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or relevant two-year certificate
Microsoft Office Suite / O365

Preferred

Personal or working experience with public transit system(s)
Basic knowledge of the Puget Sound area, and / or Sound Transit service area
GIS familiarity (Geographic Information Systems)
