Supervisor; Technologies Inspection
Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers. They are seeking a Supervisor for the Quality Technologies Inspection group, responsible for overseeing CWI operations, maintaining welding documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities
The candidate shall be capable of taking initiative and responsibility of CWI operations on each project site
The candidate is expected to maintain welder continuity and welding documentation databases to ensure traceability for ISO 90001 and AS9100
The candidate shall be capable of assisting and, when necessary, representing the Leidos Dynetics in all matters concerning qualified weld operations to an auditor, the customer, or other Leidos Dynetics Leadership
Must have the working knowledge to organize and catalogue welding documentation, up to and including WPS’s, PQR’s, PQTR’s, WOPQTR’s and ability to parse this information independent of the specific code invoked
When necessary, the candidate shall inspect welds on DoD and aerospace hardware
The applicant shall determine acceptance against applicable quality standards and codes, report findings to Weld Engineers, and Nonconformances to Quality Engineering
The candidate shall assist with weld schedules in business proposals, and estimate personnel hours required for project completion
Become intimately familiarized with several codes and specifications and be willing to challenge the manufacturing process when performance is outside of the bounds of the specified code
Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
Be willing to learn and eventually certify to NDT Level 2 in RT, PT, and MT
Qualification
Required
Candidate must have a current AWS CWI or SCWI certification and possess the ability to pass a vision and color perception exam
Candidate must have a Bachelors degree with at least 4-8 years experience
Candidate must have strong communication skills with the ability to instruct others in accordance with internal and industrial weld process specifications
Candidate must have knowledge of internal audit practices including root cause and corrective actions
Candidate must have demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, CAD models, and specifications
Candidate must have basic computer skills including use of Microsoft office products
Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Candidate must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds and have the ability to crawl under supported trailer weldments for evaluation
Preferred
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
Ability to travel, typically no more than 10% may be required
Achieve and maintain NAS-410 Level II certifications in Radiography, Magnetic Particle, and Dye Penetrant at a minimum
Trade school or real-world experience with welding under the hood
