Responsibilities
Prepare, install, configure, and validate SD-WAN hardware at remote and warehouse sites as part of a multi-site network deployment
Perform on-site removal and replacement of existing network equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Configure network devices and update settings on Cisco and Palo Alto hardware to support SD-WAN connectivity
Troubleshoot Layer 1 and Layer 2 connectivity issues, including cabling, power, routing, and switching problems
Diagnose and resolve on-site hardware and software issues during deployment and post-installation validation
Use network testing and diagnostic tools to verify performance, stability, and connectivity of deployed solutions
Communicate deployment status, issues, and resolutions clearly to project leads and remote engineering teams
Follow documented deployment processes and contribute updates or improvements to installation and validation documentation
Coordinate with on-site staff and project resources to complete equipment exchanges and site cutovers on schedule
Maintain a high level of customer service while working in active operational environments
Support travel-based deployments across multiple locations, adapting to changing schedules and site requirements
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of hands-on experience in networking or telecommunications delivery, preferably in field or multi-site deployment environments
Practical experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) in live environments
Strong knowledge of LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies, including Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking
Working knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and Cisco IOS; CCNA certification is preferred
Familiarity with Palo Alto security devices and SD-WAN technologies is highly desirable
Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues using tools such as Wireshark or other packet analyzers
Understanding of core networking protocols and standards (TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4, QoS, routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP)
Ability to read, follow, and contribute to technical deployment documentation with strong attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Proven ability to work independently in time-sensitive, high-pressure environments while collaborating with remote teams
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred
Ability to travel extensively (80%+ domestic travel within the lower 48 states)
Preferred
CCNA certification is preferred
Familiarity with Palo Alto security devices and SD-WAN technologies is highly desirable
