Economic Service Worker-Human Services-BFA-Region 1-Ohio Co.
The WV Department of Human Services is seeking an Economic Service Worker to process applications and determine eligibility for various economic assistance programs. The role involves conducting interviews, maintaining client caseloads, and referring clients to supportive services as needed.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision, perform at the full performance level in processing applications, ascertaining eligibility for, and overseeing a caseload for a variety of economic assistance programs including, but not limited to SNAP, various Medicaid programs, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, and School Clothing Vouchers
Schedule telephone and face-to-face interviews
Competently conduct personal interviews with clients regarding their personal, financial, and social information
Determine eligibility for services, maintain an up-to-date client caseload, and refer clients to various supportive services and agencies when needed
May obtain repayment from clients who have been issued benefits erroneously
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Any combination of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience providing direct client services such as interviewing clients, customers or the public, and evaluating the data against established standards and guidelines may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis
Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing customer service, telemarketing, retail or clerical work may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis
Successful completion of college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may substitute for the required training on a year-for-year basis. Every thirty (30) credit hours of education will equal one (1) year of training
Experience in Economic Services work requiring program eligibility decisions may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience will equal (2) years of training
A valid driver's license may be required
