Mechatronics Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, test, and integrate electromechanical systems into Cascade products
Develop and implement software programs for embedded control systems in off-highway equipment
Utilize CANbus protocols to enable machine-to-machine communication between Cascade products and host vehicles
Troubleshoot hardware, electrical, and software issues and make recommendations for improvements
Provide engineering support to internal and external customers worldwide for global Cascade products
Develop conceptual design proposals for new customer quotations
Independently develop product solutions within defined parameters and scope
Schedule and achieve project goals in R&D Projects within the specified timelines
Create detailed manufacturing documentation, including drawings, wiring diagrams, and other specifications to support manufacturing production
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize them to meet timelines
As part of the Global Engineering team, help visualize and define new and innovative products
Perform other related duties may be assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience programming and working with microcontrollers, PLCs, or other embedded control systems
Experience designing and integrating electrical control systems, including sensor selection and power management
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language
Demonstrated ability to translate technical and customer requirements into effective design solutions
Comfortable working in a manufacturing and/or fabrication shop environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team setting, including off-site environments
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability and willingness to travel occasionally to customer job sites and company locations
Preferred
5+ years of mechanical and/or electromechanical design experience
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, and assembly
Familiarity with programming languages and environments such as C, C++, Python, IEC 61131-3 Structured Text, and Danfoss PLUS+1® GUIDE
Experience with parametric 3D modeling software, such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools
Demonstrated experience designing for manufacturability and serviceability
Knowledge of, and experience with, hydraulic circuit design and control systems
Familiarity with forklift trucks, mobile hydraulics, or lift truck systems
Working knowledge of CAN bus communication protocols (e.g., J1939, CANopen)
Experience working in a Linux-based environment
