Responsibilities

Serving as the NNPP interface with the architecture/engineering (A/E) firms, construction contractors, and Government agencies designing and executing major construction projects
Routinely reporting project status to Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) and Naval Reactors (NR) personnel
Generating functional requirements and obtaining stakeholder approvals
Ensuring functional requirements are incorporated during project design reviews
Performing Quality Assurance for a wide range of disciplines (civil / structural, electrical, architectural, mechanical) and deliverables (design reviews, construction submittal reviews, field surveys, and closeout inspections)
Supporting efficient construction problem resolution and reviews/approvals of technical changes
Verifying accuracy and completeness of as-built drawings and other records

Required

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering, science field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
Currently a Principal Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company
All candidates must be U.S. citizens
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter
All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707

Preferred

Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to complete all assigned tasks
Ability to read and interpret construction contract documents (specifications, drawings, and cost estimates)
Experience with either civil / structural or electrical power/communications system design or construction
Demonstrated ability to interface and communicate (both written and verbal) with other departments, the Navy, and Naval Reactor (NR)
Familiarity with prototype and / or site operations at Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) Charleston
