Responsibilities

Develop AI/ML-based algorithms to support clinical decision making and hospital performance improvement efforts
Communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization and to external research and education audiences
Independently resolve complex computing/data/CI problems using introductory and/or intermediate principles
Plan, guide and execute innovative scientific research programs and development projects to completion by selecting approaches, and interpreting and evaluating results with researchers, staff and colleagues and supervisors

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer / Computational / Data Science, or Domain Sciences with computer / computational / data specialization or equivalent experience
Ten or more years of relevant experience
Expert knowledge of data science and/or clinical informatics
Experience with designing, and implementing, training, and deploying AI/ML-based algorithms for biomedical applications
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization and to external research and education audiences
Expert skills and experience in independently resolving complex computing / data / CI problems using introductory and / or intermediate principles
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with executive-level management on a regular basis as well as funding agency program managers / directors
Expert experience working in a complex computing / data / CI environment encompassing all or some of the following: HPC, data science infrastructure and tools / software, and diverse domain science application base
Expert ability to independently plan, guide and execute innovative scientific research programs and development projects to completion by selecting approaches, and interpreting and evaluating results with researchers, staff and colleagues and supervisors
Proven ability to establish realistic research priorities and lead, motivate and guide colleagues and staff for a sustained effort

Preferred

Master's degree or PhD in Computer / Computational / Data Science, or Domain Sciences with computer / computational / data specialization preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop and lead one or multi-institutional national scale proposals and acquire funding
Expert ability to successfully work with multiple concurrent projects. Excellent research and technology project management skills
In depth experience assessing a broad spectrum of technical and research needs and demands and establish priorities, leads development of solutions to meet such needs
