Responsibilities
Originate, research, write, produce, and edit news segments
Collaborate with national assignment editors, reporters, writers, and executive producers while making editorial and content decisions in accordance with CBS guidelines and standards
Work both in the control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations, including breaking news
Oversee editing, script writing and creation of news graphics
Time programs and segments with a good sense of pacing, energy and urgency
Embrace change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience
Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced while ensuring active, conversational style writing
Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills
Qualification
Required
5+ years of broadcast or cable news experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Proven background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing
Previous experience working in a live control room, including serving as a Line Producer in a live-news environment
