Branch Manager I

CASE Credit Union is seeking a Branch Manager I to oversee the operational efforts of the Branch. This role involves coaching and managing staff, ensuring compliance with policies, and pursuing business development to grow the Credit Union’s membership base within the community.

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the effective and efficient performance of Branch operations
Ensures that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and with legal and regulatory requirements
Ensures Branch security
Ensures that the Opening and closing of the building is in accordance with set hours and tests security equipment quarterly
Implements changes to established policy and procedures within the Branch
Monitors the financial performance of the Branch and ensures that established budgets are met
Ability to diffuse difficult member situations
Acts as a Loan Officer and processes member loans within established policies and limits (for residential mortgage loans, employee will be required to obtain a unique identifier via the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry which includes being fingerprinted and undergoing a criminal background check)
Ensures that all employees files are current, accurate, and well maintained
Promotes branch business development and seeks to broaden member base
Actively cross-sells Credit Union products and services
Completed required reports and records and ensures that Branch functions are properly documented
Ensures timekeeping and payroll records are up to date and accurate
Effectively supervises Branch staff, ensuring optimal performance
Provides leadership through effective goal setting and communication
Directly supervises all Branch staff
Ensures that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained
Determines work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks
Conducts regular meetings with Branch employees to inform and train
Discusses areas needing improvement and changes in procedure
Determines appropriate staffing levels for proper utilization of employees
Tracks individual progress and conducts performance appraisals on each employee
Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed
Recommends promotions for employees as appropriate
Provides leadership training to employees seeking management opportunities
Approves all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time cards for each Branch employee
Keeps accurate payroll and attendance records
Actively promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Credit Union in the community
Ensures that requests and questions are promptly resolved
Ensures that deadlines are met
Provides assistance, direction, and supervision as needed, including guidance for Member Service Representatives
Reviews and monitors the work of Branch Personnel
Provides suggestions and support as necessary
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations
Join and participate in the activities of a local community organization
Ensures that the Credit Union's quality reputation is maintained and projected
Assumes responsibility for the effective administration of Branch functions
Ensures that Branch operations are well coordinated with accounting, and loan functions
Manages and oversees expenses
Pursues cost-saving measures
Continually seeks ways to improve Branch operations and productivity and to meet established goals
Prepares periodic Branch activity reports and makes recommendations to Service Team / Management for improvements
Provides leadership to assigned personnel through effective objective setting, delegation, motivation, and communication
Conducts regular meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures
Discusses areas needing improvement
Institutes prudent safety measures
Keeps management/Service Team informed of Branch activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems
Requests assistance when necessary
Attends assigned training sessions and stays current on new operational changes
Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained
Develops and manages budget, manages and oversees expenses, implements/evaluates expense reduction and income generators
Assumes responsibility for related functions as required or assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree or working towards Bachelor's degree. Work experience will be taken into consideration
Understanding of the Credit Union's field of membership
Knowledge of financial institution services, products, and policies
Understanding of Teller/Member Service Representative/Loan Officer duties
Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements
Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills
Well organized and able to handle multiple projects
Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment
Effective problem solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to maintain an effective and efficient work flow
Risk Management

Preferred

Two years or more of experience in a supervisory role, including operations, community involvement, and business development
