Morbark LLC, located in Winn, Michigan, is seeking a Design Engineer to work on design projects for product modifications and new products. The role involves executing design and development projects, providing technical support, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Execute assigned design and development projects
Provide technical support to sales, production, service and operations to make and meet commitments
Support manufacturing and updating prints to provide configuration control of product as it is built
Pursue individual goals and objectives and contribute to achievement of department goals and continuous improvement of department processes
Maintain a record of system changes as required
Contribute to systems related troubleshooting and problem solving
Identify cost saving opportunities for the product or office
Support other groups and departments as needed

Required

Prior experience in design
Demonstrated ability to identify applicable design requirements for a given application or product
Ability to work with a diverse group of employees, suppliers and customers
Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
Effectively establish understand and communicate with individuals at multiple levels of the organization including shop floor and office
Formal Problem-Solving training/skills
Project management experience, interfacing with multiple projects
Good working knowledge of Microsoft product suite
Demonstrated ability to exhibit and model Alamo Group's Leadership Core Competencies
1 - 3 years of design engineering related experience, including internship and co-op experiences

Preferred

Experience working with Solid Edge CAD software package is desirable
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering preferred, will consider associates degree and/or previous work experience in lieu of formal education
