Engineering Manager
Intermountain Electronics is seeking an Engineering Manager responsible for developing, organizing, and executing engineering and project management activities for the facility. The role involves leading the engineering/project management team, setting strategic goals, and ensuring successful project delivery while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities
Provide technical and leadership expertise for engineering and project management groups
Supervise, plan and coordinate day-to-day work activities for engineering/project manager group, set priorities and train employees in best practices and applications
Conduct performance appraisals with engineering/project management team; , setting goals and objectives, completes regular feedback sessions, reviews training, and develops team
Support all other departments as needed
Develop processes, procedures, and provide leadership and training to engineering/project management personnel
Collaborate/communicate with engineers, managers at respective company locations to ensure work processes, resources and projects meet company requirements and deadlines
Ensure PPR’s are held and conducted on a timely basis so projects are delivered on-time and work flow is not interrupted at manufacturing locations
Provide technical support for Project Managers and customers; Provide project status updates and; take lead role in resolving any questions/changes related to the project
Assist Project Managers in developing detailed cost estimates in line with customer requests and time requirements
Responsible for ensuring positive customer relationships and service
Actively promote and sell all IE products, capital equipment and repairs
Provide guidance on improving quoting process and how to improve better product and process standardization
Provide support for Engineering group
Ensure all designs are in alignment with Operations and Sourcing goals and capabilities
Assign/coordinate design and engineering activities on projects
Support cost-reduction, quality improvement, and/or efficiency projects
Lead compliance with regulatory requirements and standards
Maintains regular and consistent job attendance
Follows and complies with IE Core Values
Must be able to travel 20% of time
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Industrial Engineering or technical field plus five years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
One year supervisory experience
Two years industrial manufacturing experience
Ability to actively lead team and looks for ways to be proactive
Experienced in leading multi-department teams and other engineers
Able to balance work between two or three projects
Has experience working with contractors, outside service providers and vendors
Meets deadlines and can motivate a team toward achieving its goal
Strong computer knowledge of Epicor, Excel, MSWord and Outlook
Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills
Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams and electrical schematics
Ability to effectively collaborate with project managers/engineering team and manufacturing personnel to ensure successful completion of projects
Attention to detail with emphasis on drawing specifications
Strong communication/leadership skills
Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results through continual attention to detail and anticipation of potential problems during the early planning and design review stages
Strong training/mentoring skills with ability to build successful, efficient project management & engineering team members
Must be able to travel 20% of time
Maintains regular and consistent job attendance

Ability to interpret a variety of work specifications, blue prints and instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Must be able to effectively communicate/train subordinates

Must be able to read, and understand production reports related to quality, and quantity
Must be able to write NCR's and comply with safety rules
Must be able to establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff
Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as cost estimates, profit/loss margins, design dimensions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and mechanical stress, as well as multiplication, division, addition and subtraction
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong working knowledge of Epicor Excel, MSWord and Outlook
Must comply with and follow all IE standards (Cardinal Rules), programs, policies, and procedures as they apply to this position, reports any unsafe condition immediately
Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner
Must be able to operate/work safely around machinery/moving equipment
This is a sedentary job, the employee may be required to lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds
Job requires the ability to successfully train other employees
