CRDD Data Specialist I (Hybrid Option)

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is seeking a Research Data Specialist I to support the development of managed care capitation rates for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The role involves performing research and analyses related to financial delivery systems, data collection, and reporting activities for various programs under the Capitated Rates Development Division (CRDD).

Responsibilities

Perform research and analyses in support of major projects or data activities related to the Medi-Cal managed care financial delivery system
Conduct a broad range of data collection, analysis and research activities
Support state and federal reporting requirements across waivers and programs under CRDD
Serve as a program expert in research design, data queries, data analysis, and evaluation and validation of data
Act as a consultant to managers and staff, the department, other governmental entities, and other stakeholders on issues related to CRDD's waivers and programs, data collection/analysis, research, and reporting

Required

Applicants must include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for this recruitment
The SOQ is a narrative discussion, not a cover letter, prepared by the applicant describing how their skills, knowledge, abilities, education, training, and experience, qualify them for the position
The SOQ must be in 12-point Arial font, single-spaced, and no more than 2 pages in length
Describe your education, training, and experience related to conducting empirical research and evaluation of financial data
Please include examples of how you have applied specific research methods to support fiscal analysis or program evaluation
Describe your work experience leading projects and speaking to internal and external stakeholders
Candidates who do not complete and submit a SOQ may not be considered for this position
