Responsibilities
Design and implement the I/O layer software that abstracts hardware interfaces for ground systems, enabling reliable data exchange for command, telemetry, and control
Develop and maintain device drivers and hardware abstraction modules for sensors, storage, and communications
Maintain and upgrade the Operating Systems on real-time hardware per software and project requirements
Conduct and participate in design and code reviews for I/O Layer software
Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, interfaces, and operational procedures
Provide technical support during software development, software testing, and hardware integration
Collaborate with systems engineers to ensure integration of ground systems per mission requirements
Perform rigorous testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mission-critical software and hardware
Qualification
Required
A degree in Software Simulation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required
Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a minimum of a Masters with at least 3 years of experience, or BS with at least 5 years of experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in C/C++
Proficiency working with Unix/Linux (Unix-like OS structure, file system, shell, secure shell)
Experience in device driver development
Experience in Hardware-in-the-loop test facility design
Experience in developing software to interface with data buses and standards such as MIL-STD-1553, RS422, and InfiniBand
Experience with Real-Time computing and operating systems
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred
Degree from an ABET-accredited university is preferred
