Cloud Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

Monitor and manage day-to-day operations of the hosted application environment
Focus primarily on auditing, monitoring, and 'OS and up' configuration
Work with a team of experienced engineers and with our external service provider
Ensure a smooth application experience for end users
Work with internal teams to troubleshoot and diagnose issues
Configure new application instances for customers
Commit to good configuration management
Forward planning for application hosting across government customer markets
Develop new skills in technical and compliance domains
Contribute to ongoing architecture and design for current and future implementations

Required

Windows Server support/maintenance, IIS, Group Policy and Active Directory expertise
DNS Management
Understanding of security compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53/FISMA/FedRAMP)
Software Deployment/System Implementation experience
Familiarity with Configuration Management and change management best practices
Willingness/flexibility to perform weekend and after-hours system maintenance work
Strong problem solving/trouble-shooting skills
Strong customer service/team communication skills
The ability to document your work and organize information for the shared benefit of the larger team
Typically requires BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Preferred

SMTP Mail servers, protocols, reputation management and standards
Oracle Database Administration
AWS experience/knowledge, especially SysOps or Architect domains
Enterprise/Cloud Anti-virus solutions
SIEM solutions for Cloud environments
