Responsibilities
Support the development of satellite command and control, mission planning, and data processing software systems using Elixir
Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews
Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to build effective systems
Take on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from senior engineers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, completed or graduating within the next 4 months
Exposure to functional programming concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior experience
Introductory experience with Elixir, Erlang, or similar functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Clojure, F#)
Interest in resilient, fault-tolerant system design
Strong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplines
Enjoys debugging and problem solving
Interest in distributed systems
A strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quo
U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Preferred
Familiarity with Elixir and OTP concepts including GenServers, supervision trees, or the Actor model
Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Interest in distributed systems, real-time or game engine backends
Familiarity with authentication concepts such as OAuth2 or role-based access controls
