CytoPreparatory Technician - Cytopathology

They are seeking a CytoPreparatory Technician who will prepare and stain clinical specimens for microscope evaluation and maintain accurate records of cytology specimens.

Responsibilities
Prepares and stains clinical specimens (gynecological and non-gynecological) for microscope evaluation, using independent judgment to determine the appropriate processing technique
Maintains accurate and complete records of cytology specimens and laboratory functions
Participates in providing instruction to students in cytology processing and record keeping
Participates in the continuous improvement of cytology processing as well as to attend continuing education functions pertaining to cytology processing techniques
Assists with special laboratory projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires HS grad or GED Equivalent
Requires knowledge of various complex and lengthy laboratory techniques and procedures; and the ability to use independent judgment in processing cytology specimens
Requires the ability to maintain quality control records and patient results; to perform routine maintenance; as necessary; to use the hospital and laboratory information systems and the ability to prepare reagents; chemicals and stains
Requires knowledge of safety regulation and protocols
Requires the ability to assist with special laboratory projects as assigned
