Business Development Manager - Light Industry/Engineering
Unity Systems is seeking a high-energy Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Light Industry and Engineering sectors. The role involves hunting and closing high-volume accounts while managing relationships and providing consultative selling to clients.

Responsibilities
Strategic Hunting: Identify and penetrate large-scale users of contingent labor (typically 50+ heads per shift) within the local territory
Consultative Selling: Analyze a prospect's turnover rates, safety records, and overtime spend to build a customized ROI case for staffing services
Site Evaluation: Perform facility walk-throughs to assess safety standards, environment, and specific skill requirements for roles like pick/pack, assembly, and forklift operation
Relationship Management: Transition won accounts to the recruiting team via a high-touch "Implementation Plan" to ensure fill rates meet client expectations from Day 1
Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of local wage competition and labor availability to advise clients on competitive pay rates and retention strategies
Top Producer Performance Metrics (KPIs)
Revenue Growth: Consistently exceeding $1M - $3M in annual new contract value (varies by market)
Activity Volume: Maintaining 30–50 "touches" per day (calls, emails, drop-ins) and 5+ face-to-face prospect meetings per week
Conversion Rate: A high ratio of Discovery Meetings to signed Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
Qualification
Required
2+ years of B2B sales, specifically within Staffing, Logistics, or Industrial Services
Proven ability to thrive in a 'rejection-heavy' environment and the persistence to visit industrial parks in person
Ability to defend markup percentages against procurement teams and competitors who underbid on price
A deep understanding of the local geography and the competitive landscape of the Georgia, Texas, or Florida industrial corridors
