Information Technology Support Manager
Del Toro Insurance is looking for an Information Technology Support Manager to lead project initiatives and align them with business strategies. The role involves managing stakeholders, overseeing technical aspects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering team leadership and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Owns overall project accountability (scope, timeline, success metrics)
Aligns the project with business strategy and IT roadmap
Sets governance structure, decision-making process, and escalation paths
Sponsors or co-sponsors major initiatives
Acts as the bridge between business users, executives, vendors, and IT teams
Manages expectations, priorities, and trade-offs
Communicates status, risks, and outcomes in business-friendly terms
Negotiates resources and timelines
Defines project scope, milestones, and deliverables
Allocates people, budget, tools, and infrastructure
Balances project work with operational (“keep the lights on”) responsibilities
Ensures the right skills are assigned at the right time
Provides architectural and technical direction (even if not hands-on)
Reviews designs, integrations, and technology choices
Ensures solutions follow standards, security, and compliance requirements
Validates that the technical solution meets business needs
Identifies project risks early and puts mitigation plans in place
Resolves blockers and escalates when needed
Controls scope creep through formal change management
Ensures continuity and minimal operational disruption
Leads internal teams, contractors, and vendors
Removes obstacles so teams can deliver
Coaches project leads, engineers, and analysts
Encourages accountability, collaboration, and quality
Selects and manages vendors or system integrators
Oversees contracts, SLAs, and deliverables
Ensures vendors meet quality, security, and timeline expectations
Manages cost control and contract changes
Ensures testing, validation, and acceptance criteria are met
Confirms readiness for go-live (training, documentation, support)
Oversees deployment and transition to operations
Measures post-implementation success and lessons learned
Ensures projects meet regulatory, security, and data protection standards
Works with InfoSec, Legal, and Audit teams
Approves access controls, data handling, and system hardening
Captures lessons learned to improve future projects
Refines IT processes, standards, and tools
Feeds project outcomes back into long-term IT strategy
