Perform routine clerical and clinical tasks within the clinic, assisting physicians and other licensed providers to provide cost effective, quality patient care
Pre and Post-Transplant experience
Liver patient care experience
Experience in tracking open gaps in care
Experience reviewing consultation and result reports and abstracting the information
Experience preparing charts for provider
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a recognized medical assistant program
One (1) year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Some positions may require an Office Lab Assistant License within sixty (60) days of hire
Knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Knowledge of operation of general office equipment
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Knowledge of basic mathematics
Knowledge of medical equipment
Knowledge of universal precautions
Knowledge of referral processing, scheduling, data entry
Knowledge of software applications
Knowledge of department and hospital safety practices
Knowledge of patient rights
Knowledge of infection control practices and policies
Knowledge of handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials
Knowledge of department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures
Knowledge of age specific patient care practices
Skill in procuring specimens through nasopharyngeal or oral swabs according to established procedures
Skill in vaccination activities
Skill in injection and aseptic technique
Skill in performing noninvasive procedures ie EKG
Skill in processing Point of Care testing
Skill in supporting clinical team and patients to achieve annual wellness care and transitional care documentation
Skill in communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds under stressful conditions
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties
Skill in efficient, effective and safe use of equipment
Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
