Risk Safety Program Manager
Grande Ronde Hospital is seeking a Risk Safety Program Manager to support the development and management of a corporation-wide risk management system. Responsibilities
Develops, implements, and manages a corporation-wide program for risk identification, investigation, mitigation, and prevention, including evaluating alternative risk management strategies to reduce exposure and improve safety outcomes
Plans, organizes, and coordinates loss prevention and control initiatives to proactively identify and reduce potential risks. Develops strategic approaches to risk and safety programs that are measurable and reportable
Facilitates regular risk assessments across departments, implements improvements in collaboration with leaders, monitors corrective action plans, and keeps management informed of risk and safety issues, trends, and progress
Handles liability claims management, collaborating with the organization’s insurance carrier and assisting with claim documentation, investigation, and reporting
Supports the provider peer review process, collaborating with leadership and medical staff to identify cases for patient safety related committee and liability insurance review
Leads the Employee Safety Committee and oversees programs focused on employee injury prevention, workplace inspections, and incident review
Conducts regular inspections and departmental rounding to ensure OR-OSHA compliance, regulatory readiness, and a safe, hazard-free work environment. Develops and implements strategies to strengthen the OR-OSHA employee safety program, including ongoing monitoring to ensure effectiveness
Creates and maintains a framework for workplace safety by monitoring, inspecting, and documenting departmental performance, following up on mitigation strategies, and communicating findings and recommendations to leadership
Collects, analyzes, and reports data to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform system-wide risk and safety improvement strategies
Maintains and updates policies and procedures related to risk management, patient safety, and employee safety to ensure regulatory, accreditation, and organizational compliance
Assesses organizational training needs and provides or coordinates safety and compliance education, including new employee orientation, ongoing employee safety training, and remedial training
Promotes a culture of safety by coaching departments, directing initiatives, fostering accountability, and serving as a knowledgeable resource on laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance
Builds organization-wide engagement and support for risk management and safety programs through communication, education, collaboration, and awareness initiatives
Partners with performance improvement program managers, specialists, and infection prevention team members to support organizational goals and maintain continuity of departmental operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Safety Management, Risk Management, Nursing, or related field required
At least three (3) years of experience in risk management, patient safety, employee safety, performance improvement, compliance, or related field
Credential as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), or an OSHA-based Loss Control certification required within 18 months of hire
