Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand part requirements and tolerances
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/CAM output) using GibbsCAM for lathes, turning centers, and potentially milling or multi-task machines
Determine the proper machining sequence, tooling, feeds, speeds, cutting parameters, and setups
Qualification
Required
Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) programming CNC lathes and turning centers using GibbsCAM is a must
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Familiarity with selecting tooling and workholding/fixtures, as well as setting machining parameters (speeds, feeds, depths, and tooling offsets)
Experience with machine setup, first-piece inspection, in-process inspection, and final quality verification
Ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues and adjust toolpaths or machine parameters as needed
Ability to mentor and train others in GibbsCAM programming
Good organizational skills to maintain program files, tooling/setup sheets, inspection records, and job logs
