Responsibilities

Serving as an advisor to the commander, staff, and field units, and external partners, providing analysis and integration of emerging and on-going responsibilities related to Arctic issues
Initiating, developing and maintaining senior level coordination with higher, adjacent, and subordinate staffs
Preparing the commander and district staff elements for participation in Arctic related meetings, conferences, and like forums in support of the Coast guard's role as the lead Federal Arctic maritime agency
Conducting cross-programmatic coordination with District Staff representatives at all levels to assist in the development and execution of planning response, and prevention activities associated with the Arctic
Performing special assignments that may concern any aspect of Arctic District business which may require analysis, appraisal and/or evaluation of operational plans and that may necessitate numerous contacts, clearances, and arrangement with other organizational entities

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service
A one-year probationary period may be required
All selected applicants must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation
This position requires a Top Secret clearance
Selectee must be able to obtain/maintain a valid state driver's license
Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by the closing date of the vacancy
All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal sector
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
