They are seeking a Varonis SaaS Data Classification Engineer to support an enterprise unstructured data governance migration into Varonis SaaS, focusing on onboarding, configuring, and maintaining data classification policies while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Onboard and configure Varonis SaaS DCE for unstructured data discovery and scanning across enterprise storage platforms
Implement and maintain classification policies using regex, structured identifier matching, and EDM-style exact match approaches
Support migration away from legacy unstructured data governance and DLP-style controls (e.g., Network Discover, Symantec DLP -type capabilities)
Perform policy QA, validation, and tuning to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives
Provide production support during rollout, including troubleshooting scan coverage, policy behavior, and performance issues
Collaborate with Cyber Data Risk, Wealth Management, and governance stakeholders to align classification requirements to business and risk outcomes
Expand scanning coverage over time across additional storage platforms (e.g., IBM GPFS, second-tier storage)
Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials to enable operational teams
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with Varonis, with preference for Varonis SaaS
Proven experience implementing Exact Data Match (EDM) or equivalent exact-match classification approaches within enterprise DLP or data governance platforms (e.g., Symantec DLP EDM or similar)
Hands-on experience building and maintaining regex-based classification policies and structured identifier matching
Experience supporting large-scale unstructured data discovery, scanning, and classification across enterprise storage environments
Strong troubleshooting skills across scanning coverage, policy outcomes, and rollout support
Excellent stakeholder communication skills and ability to work with risk, governance, and technical teams
Ability to work independently across multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver in a fast-moving rollout environment
Preferred
Experience onboarding or expanding coverage across IBM GPFS or other high-scale file system platforms
Experience migrating from legacy governance tooling into a modern SaaS data security platform
Familiarity with data governance operating models, sensitive data taxonomy, and control frameworks
Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to support testing, validation, or operational efficiency
Experience delivering professional services or consulting for large enterprises
