3+ years expGEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Project Ecologist for their Upstate New York office in Ithaca to support ecological projects throughout NY. The role involves leading wetland delineation crews and conducting ecological field investigations, as well as preparing associated reports.

Responsibilities
Leading ecological field investigations, primarily wetland delineations in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers methodology, stream assessments, and identification of Ordinary High Water Mark
Instructing and guiding junior field staff
Other ecological assessments such as avian surveys, T&E species habitat assessments, aquatic invasive species surveys if the need arises
Preparation of technical reports, permit application packages, agency correspondence, and GIS figures
Travel throughout NY, potentially including overnights
Qualification
Required
BS in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or equivalent
3-6 years' experience with wetland delineations in NY and ability to lead a delineation crew
Familiarity with NY State and federal wetlands regulations and permitting
Ability to perform fieldwork, including assignments with overnight or extended travel
Comfort with working outdoors in remote areas in heat, cold, and wet conditions
Strong communication, technical writing, and report preparation skills
Valid U.S. Driver's license
Willingness to cross-train as needed to support environmental remediation and/or water resources projects
Preferred
MS in Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or similar
Experience with avian surveys
Proficiency with ESRI Field Maps and ArcMap Pro
40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training
