Responsibilities

Accelerate the development of autonomous capabilities for vessels
Develop new features and routinely test them on real robotic vessels
Some travel is expected during the new-vessel system integration phase, as well as occasional travel to support the first vessel as it makes its maiden voyage from Europe to the United States

Required

A strong educational and/or professional background in software engineering and robotics
Experience working with real robots/autonomous systems in research or in industry
Solid foundation in modern SWE tools such as Docker, CI/CD workflows, etc
Developing advanced autonomy algorithms in C++/Python/ROS 2 (e.g., computer vision, motion planning, sensor fusion, controls, machine learning)
Building software interfaces for sensors, actuators, and other hardware (e.g., cameras, lidars, robotic arms, NVIDIA edge computing devices)
Disciplined and effective use of AI-assisted coding in a professional context
Experience with automated, cloud-based fleet data management systems
Designing low-latency, high-bandwidth remote operation systems (e.g., video streaming, WebRTC)

Preferred

Experience with sensor and data visualization tools such as Foxglove or Rerun, including customization using TypeScript and React
Exposure to marine robotics
Experience working in a small team or startup environment
