Information Systems Analyst I - SR-16

The County of Hawaii is seeking an Information Systems Analyst I to perform as an entry level trainee in information systems analysis. The role involves receiving training in various aspects of information technology systems, assisting higher level analysts, and performing simple tasks to develop skills in systems analysis and programming.
Government Administration

Responsibilities

Attends orientation and training sessions
Learns the principles, concepts, work processes, regulations, and reference materials fundamental to information systems analysis work
May occasionally accompany a higher level analyst on interviews and meetings as an observer
Performs simple tasks to gain knowledge and develop skill in the application of work processes and techniques
May assist in routine preparation and modification of systems and user documentation as directed by higher level systems analysts
Compiles data, searches records for data on a specific project, reviews completed systems flow charts, drafts systems flow charts, drafts minor revisions for the procedures manual
Assists higher level analysts with project assignments, including researching and compiling data
May assist in providing technical and systems support to information technology users, including backups, installation, and routine software maintenance
May perform simple and routine computer programming tasks
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
Possession of a valid State of Hawai'i Driver's License (Class 3) or any other valid comparable driver's license at time of filing
Foreign transcripts must be accompanied by an official transcript or credential evaluation to determine U.S. equivalency
Knowledge of analytical methods and techniques
Knowledge of principles of report writing
Ability to think logically
Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions
Ability to learn the fundamentals of systems analysis, information processing, and computer programming
Ability to learn the role of the county-wide information systems
Ability to learn pertinent techniques such as flow charting and de-bugging
Ability to read and comprehend information technology manuals and other materials
Ability to speak and write effectively
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
Ability to maintain effective work relationships with others
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Meet the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
