Responsibilities
Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and supervise the daily emergency maintenance/repair programs for a level ii institution
Develop maintenance plans and procedures for buildings, utilities, grounds, services, installed equipment, etc
Determine requirements, obtain required materials/equipment and assign work
Establish on-call Procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed
Develop/implement preventive maintenance program for the institution
Determine items requiring periodic pm and develop check list for each item
Schedule and follow up to ensure PM's are completed as required. Develop plan and cost estimate, determine schedule and obtain materials, supplies & equipment
Select, orient, train, and evaluate new employees/inmates
Responsible for maintenance/testing of water distribution and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant
Qualification
Required
An associate's degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment
A high school diploma and 5 years professional experience related to the area of employment, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity
Thorough knowledge of trades is being supervised
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire
Preferred
Prefer professional experience in the principles and technique of facilities maintenance to include plumbing, general construction, electrical, kitchen equipment, and operation of heavy equipment
