Responsibilities

Ensure robust design, timely implementation, correctness of code, and support of SQL Server, one of the fast growing database engines within Cloud SQL product family
Work with product management to define features and create and drive roadmaps for one or more functional areas in the team
Work on strategic initiatives to grow the service and improve the reliability of the service
Participate and manage technical debt reduction analysis and the implementation efforts
Participate in the on-call rotations and help maintain and mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration in a healthy team culture

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience testing, and launching software products
5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
Experience with system design and distributed systems
Database experience

Preferred

Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
5 years of experience in software development
Experience with Go, Java, Python
Experience in SQL Server or other relational databases
Proven record collaborating with multiple teams and convincing technical stakeholders
Track record of production excellence and offering managed services
