Responsibilities
Lead control system design from concept through commissioning, including hardware, software, and network integration
Develop and program PLCs from scratch (Ladder Logic, Structured Text; Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens preferred)
Design electrical panels, perform power calculations, and ensure compliance with client and safety standards
Troubleshoot, start up, and commission automated systems onsite
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients to optimize system performance and safety
Create detailed system and software documentation, including schematics, network layouts, and test plans
Support safety-critical and regulated system design (SIL/PL concepts, ASTM standards)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with direct controls experience
8–10+ years in controls/automation engineering for industrial or manufacturing projects
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, electrical design, and system integration
Familiarity with Ethernet-based distributed I/O, field devices, and industrial hardware/software platforms
Strong organizational, communication, and technical problem-solving skills
Able to work onsite and travel up to 30% (typical ~10%)
Preferred
AutoCAD experience for electrical/control design
Knowledge of safety-critical environments (attractions, regulated industries)
Proficiency in multiple PLC languages beyond ladder logic
