Design Engineer - Robotics
MoveATech is a pioneering robotics company based in Texas, known for developing innovative autonomous systems and high-impact robotic products. They are currently looking to expand their engineering team with key roles in electrical and mechanical engineering, focusing on system integration and product lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
Develop analog and digital circuitry, including power regulation and sensor interfaces
Lead PCB schematic design, layout, and prototype development
Collaborate with mechanical and software teams for system integration
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues in lab and field environments
Maintain wiring diagrams, harnesses, grounding, and EMI/EMC strategies
Assist with sensor evaluation and integration (thermal, optical, RF, etc.)
Conduct reliability testing (thermal, vibration, EMI) and interpret results
Design and produce wiring harnesses and enclosures
Perform circuit simulations for noise and stability validation
Document design choices and contribute to engineering standards
Own complex mechanical systems throughout product lifecycle
Design, develop, and test mechanical solutions using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
Rapidly validate concepts through testing and iteration
Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for durability and manufacturability
Lead design reviews and collaborate with manufacturing partners
Create detailed engineering drawings (GD&T)
Develop fixtures, jigs, and tools for testing and production
Build and test mechanical assemblies to verify performance
Document design decisions, analysis, and test results
Work directly with end-users to refine designs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
2+ years designing and testing PCBs for embedded/electromechanical systems
Proficiency with PCB tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle)
Experience with microcontrollers and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
Hands-on with soldering, wiring, troubleshooting, and debugging
Familiarity with circuit simulation (SPICE)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience
Proficiency in CAD and thermal/mechanical analysis tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS)
Knowledge of GD&T principles
Experience supporting products through full lifecycle
Willingness to work extended hours when needed
Hands-on approach to design, assembly, testing, and field support
Proactive in process improvement
Clear, open communicator and team player
Preferred
3+ years in hardware product development
Experience in deployed or field systems
Knowledge of thermal, EMI/EMC constraints
Collaboration with firmware teams in C/C++
3+ years designing complex robotic or mechanical systems
Experience working in startup or early-stage product environments
Exposure to deployed hardware systems
Strong understanding of manufacturing considerations
