Responsibilities
Research, plan, design and develop mechanical test systems in areas to include: electronic packaging, mechanical fixtures, automation, radio frequency, thermal, hydraulic, vibration, and electro-optical for production testing environments
Integrate and validate test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
Evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions
Support onsite manufacturing builds
Troubleshoot mechanical fixtures and provide root cause corrective action analysis
Management and release of technical data packages
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, or Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis tools with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric
Experience in mechanical engineering production support
US Citizen - Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
Preferred
Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance analysis (GD&T)
Design experience with cable harnesses
Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM)
Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development
Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
