Pratt & Whitney is transforming the future of flight and is seeking a motivated Field Support Engineer and Site Lead to represent the company onsite at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts. This role serves as the primary technical and customer interface for the Massachusetts Air National Guard, supporting F-35A/F135 propulsion system operations and ensuring safe, effective, and compliant maintenance and sustainment activities.

Responsibilities

Serve as Pratt & Whitney’s onsite Site Lead and primary customer interface supporting Massachusetts Air National Guard F-35A/F135 operations
Lead and coordinate technical, logistical, and customer-facing activities with ANG leadership, squadron personnel, and industry partners
Provide hands-on propulsion system support for the F135 engine, including hardware/software integration, aircraft interfaces, and maintenance activities
Execute propulsion diagnostics, controls, and health monitoring, including data downloads and analysis, software loads, PHM, HRC, and MBITS
Advise and assist maintainers in safe, compliant F135 maintenance, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and unit-level repair in accordance with technical data
Support government property, tooling, and supply chain management while ensuring compliance with government and contractual requirements
Collaborate with P&W engineering, supply chain, and sustainment organizations to resolve technical and logistics issues using ALIS and MERLIN
Identify issues, lead root cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and provide timely reporting to P&W leadership while promoting safety and continuous improvement

Required

B.A. or B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field; other degrees with applicable experience will be considered
Minimum of 8 years of experience in engine or aircraft maintenance, logistics, or sustainment support
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance - U.S. citizenship required
Willingness to support rotating shifts and extended travel
Ability to rotate between first and second shifts as required
On-call availability with ability to deploy within 48 hours' notice
Domestic and international travel, including military deployments, for durations of approximately 14–90 days

Preferred

3+ years of F135 engine experience
Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with CORE tools and processes
Understanding of government security and Global Trade/ITAR requirements
Experience in F-35/F135 Production, Flight Test, Customer Support Engineering, Maintenance, and/or Program Management
