Responsibilities
End-to-end billing follow-up and charge workflows for ABA services
Active management and recovery of aged receivables
Research and resolution of ABA-specific denials and rejections
Phone appeals, reconsiderations, and payor follow-up
Verification of authorizations, units, modifiers, and benefits
Identifying denial patterns and communicating root causes to leadership
Maintaining compliance with payor rules, filing limits, and medical necessity requirements
Efficient management of portals, EDI, and documentation
Supporting clinical and operations teams through accurate, timely reimbursement
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of medical billing and collections experience
Experience working within an ABA provider or behavioral health organisation
Knowledge of ABA CPT codes (97151–97158) and ICD-10
Experience with units-based billing and authorizations
Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicaid MCOs, and commercial behavioral health payors
Confidence navigating payor portals and billing systems
Strong organisation and follow-through
A problem-solving approach — you do not let claims sit
Clear written and verbal communication
Solid understanding of HIPAA
Preferred
Experience with CentralReach or Salesforce
