Responsibilities

Design, configure, and deploy secure, scalable wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions using Meraki technologies, including cloud-managed wireless access points and controllers
Monitor and maintain wireless network performance across multiple locations, ensuring reliable connectivity, optimal coverage, and minimal interference
Troubleshoot and resolve wireless connectivity issues, acting as an escalation point for complex WLAN related incidents; perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
Conduct wireless site surveys, signal strength analysis, and RF planning to support optimal placement and configuration of access points
Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams on wireless network expansions, upgrades, and firmware management with minimal business disruption. Maintain accurate documentation of wireless network designs, SSID configurations, access policies, and coverage maps to support ongoing maintenance and compliance
Implement wireless security protocols including WPA2/3 Enterprise, RADIUS authentication, and role based access control to ensure secure wireless environments
Stay current on Meraki wireless technologies, industry standards (e.g., 802.11ax), and best practices to recommend improvements in coverage, capacity, and performance
Support cross-functional departments by providing technical expertise on wireless access for users, devices, IoT, and mobile platforms
Participate in capacity planning and wireless network readiness for high-density areas, events, or new site deployments

Required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in enterprise network engineering with hands-on configuration and support of Meraki or similar platforms
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP
Proficient in configuring and troubleshooting Meraki wireless access points, switches, and firewalls
Strong understanding of identity-based networking, authentication, and network access control
Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and cloud-managed network platforms
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of prioritizing tasks in high-pressure environments
Effective communicator with a collaborative approach to team engagement and stakeholder support
Working knowledge of ITIL best practices related to Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Service Level Management
Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly in dynamic environments
Service-oriented mindset with awareness of the organization's core IT services
Demonstrated judgment, decision-making, and leadership skills aligned with business best practices
Effective communicator and dependable team player across cross-functional teams
Able to represent the organization professionally with customers on-site via Co-IT engagements and Special Response Team participation
Comfortable working with wireless mobile devices (iOS, Android) and A/V conferencing tools
Must be able to travel as needed to customer locations as scheduled
Must maintain vehicle in safe and operational state
Vehicle and operator must be maintained in legal operation as defined by laws and regulations of the state of Florida
Must be local to HCPS area. On-site required
Must be able to stay alert and awake during work hours and on site
Must present professional conduct towards client, team, supervisors at all times
Must maintain good personal hygiene and professional business appearance in the workplace
This position requires the consistent use of sound judgment, decision-making capabilities, and leadership competencies to support effective business practices and contribute to organizational growth
The role requires a high degree of self-motivation, with the ability to manage daily tasks independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
